We are starting to use confluence as an intranet. Looking for a way to to automatically show the last month's timesheet summary on a team-space page. Do I need to use the tempo api and then create some kind of add-on/macro in Confluence?

You may want to consider building the report with eazybi which has integration with tempo and then adding the eazybi jira macro.
