How do I link Confluence and Jira?

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!

I looked online and I saw that I needed to go to "general configuration" in settings and click "application links" but I do not see that option. Please help!

you have to have system admin rights in both JIRA cloud and Confluence cloud.  You need to know the JIRA url and copy it.

Starting with Conflluence go to Settings and go to application links. In the link field paste the URL and click on the create a new link.  The system will reach out the the JIRA site and create a corresponding link back to confluence.

If all goes well the Short cut menu in the upper left menu will become active (if this is the first link created) displaying the link between the applications
