How do I get my data back? Atlassian is killing my account

I've had a free atlassian account for years. I actually like Jira and Confluence, they are overkill for my personal projects but they are good tools so I've used them. Again, it's been a free account for years.

I don't sign on constantly, but I use it regularly enough IMO. Anyway, today I try going to confluence and it says my account is disabled and data will be deleted.

I mean, I get it if Atlassian has decided a free customer isn't work supporting. But I want my damn data back. I have so many notes I've collected in my confluence I don't want to loose it all.

How can I get the data? Take the account, fine, but I want the data.

Hi @craigmiller160

When you do not log in to your site for a while, you will receive an email to log in again otherwise your site will be disable.

https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/track-storage-and-move-data-across-products/

You can raise a support request to ask Atlassian to turn it back on if it's not too late.

You can select Billing, payment and pricing.

Regards

Hi @craigmiller160

It's a real bummer that this happened. Atlassian usually "spams" you with email if you are inactive on your instance https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/track-storage-and-move-data-across-products/

Based on this thread https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Confluence-questions/If-your-site-continues-to-remain-inactive-it-will-be-deactivated/qaq-p/2043944#:~:text=Cloud%20Free%20sites%20are%20deactivated,not%20recoverable%20past%20this%20point

  • 60 days of inactivity - email is sent to tech contact, billing contact, site admin with the subject “[Action Required] Jump back in to <product name> to keep your subscription”
  • 90 days of inactivity - email is sent to tech contact, billing contact, site admin with the subject “[Action Required] Your <product name> subscription will be cancelled in 30 days”
  • 113 days of inactivity - a tech alert email is sent the to tech contact, billing contact, site admin with the subject “[Action Required] Your <product name> subscription will be cancelled in one week”
  • 122 days of inactivity - site is deactivated and the tech contact, billing contact, and admin get an email with the title “[Important Notice] Your <product name> subscription has been deactivated”
The site can be restored during this period
  • 162 days of inactivity - the site is deleted
The site is not recoverable past this point

The above info about the days dates back to 2022, but the reality will not be far from these numbers.

In your case I would try logging in via admin.atlassian.com, find the org to which your instance belongs to and see if you can cancel the deletion.

You can also try to open a support ticket and select the Billing option to request the instance be restored if data has not been deleted.

I think it's already gone. I don't see confluence under admin.atlassian.com

Also how can i open a support ticket? The support screen just wants me to go to their docs no matter what category I select.

I've asked for assistance on this ticket. In 2 business days someone from Atlassian should reply to you. But if you dont see any app under billing, I wouldn't have my hopes high unfortunately..
