How do I edit big tables?

I have a table on a page that is 21 columns wide. In Edit mode, I can only see 13, and when I try to horizontally scroll to see more columns, all I can see is a dotted-line vertical boundary immediately after the 13th column. I'm then snapped back to my original view before attempting to look beyond the 13 visible columns. In non-Edit mode (I guess View mode) I can scroll and see all 21 columns.

I'd like to be able to edit the contents of all 21 columns I see in View mode, not just the 13 I can see in Edit mode. I'd also like to be able to add more columns in the future. However, in this current state I cannot. I am unable to delete the table to "start from scratch" as it contains old information that is I'd like to keep for record-keeping sake.

Any advice would be welcome.

I was able to figure this out. So it turns out there are two horizontal scrolling bars: one associated with the whole page, and one associated with the table. I was interacting with the one associated with the whole page, which is why I wasn't able to see more than 13 columns. I didn't see the horizontal scrolling bar associated with the table because the table was so big and I would have to scroll for a little bit.

So if anyone else runs into this issue, scroll to the bottom of the table!

I had the similar first experience @Daniel Sullivan  :-) took some time to figure out that there are two scroll bars.

One other trick I use it to zoom out to see all the columns and select the one you want to edit and zoom in.

Hi @Daniel Sullivan

There's even a better way :)

You can adjust the width of the table (and or adjust the width of the page's text column).

You can do the former just for editing, if you want, then return to the normal view if needed:

That looks awesome! I must have an older version, because I don't see those options. This is what my bar looks like:Confluence Page Edit Bar.png
