How do I disable Atlassian Intelligence's automatic definitions feature

In Confluence, Atlassian Intelligence is now automatically underlining some terms to offer an automated definition. 

The definitions aren't helpful, and the underlined format is visually distracting. 

How can I disable this? As a beta feature, I'd hope I'm not forced to participate.

Welcome to the community! 

As of now, there isn't a granular control option to disable Atlassian Intelligence's automatic definitions feature while keeping other AI capabilities active. 

If you wish to disable this feature, you have below 2 options : 

• Disable definition highlighting for your user account:
  1. On a Confluence page or Jira issue, highlight any word.
  2. Select "Define".
  3. Once the definition appears, click the "More actions (•••)" button on the top right.
  4. Toggle on "Don't recommend definitions at all".
     This is a user-specific setting, so each user would need to apply this setting individually.
• Completely deactivate Atlassian Intelligence:
  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com and select your organization if you have more than one.
  2. Select "Settings" > "AI-enabled apps".
  3. You'll see a table with apps that already have Atlassian Intelligence activated.
  4. Select "Remove" for any of the products where you want to deactivate Atlassian Intelligence.
  5. Review your selection and select "Save" to confirm.
