To add to Thomas, you can't just add a cell (and you can't do it to any table in any software program either). You have to add a column or row, then merge cells as necessary to give the appearance of an added cell.
I do not quite get it, if I can remove individual cell from the table why cannot I add it back?

Use the table-menu (visible when you select the table in edit mode) - there you find the usual "add row" and "add column" buttons.
