I'm trying to upload images to my Confluence page by using the image uploader button in the toolbar, but the button is greyed out.

I've refreshed the page, logged out and in, and also cleared the web browser's cache, but the issue still prevails.

Hi @Lewis_ Anthony D

This probably isn’t a browser issue since you’ve already tried refreshing, logging in again, and clearing cache. In Confluence, the image upload button is usually greyed out because of permissions or where you’re trying to upload from.

You might not have permission to edit the page or upload attachments, or the page could have restrictions. It can also happen if you’re trying to add an image from the comments or reply section instead of the main page editor.

Try opening the page in edit mode and uploading the image there. If it still doesn’t work, you’ll likely need to ask your admin to check your permissions.

Hi @Lewis_ Anthony D ,

This is probably not a problem with the browser because you have already attempted to fix the problem by refreshing the screen, logging out and back in again, and cleaning the cache. In Confluence, when the image button is grayed out, this could be due to the following reasons:
you lack the appropriate edit/attachment privileges
the page or space has certain restrictions
you are attempting to insert an image from an unsupported part of the page, such as the comments or reply section

Can you check weather you are able to upload images works on the actual page editor.
