Hi,

we currently have the following setup

  • Organisation A
    • Site 1 (site1.atlassian.net)
    • Site 2 (site2.atlassian.net)
  • Organisation B
    • Site 3 (site3.atlassian.net)

Now I need to allow someone to be admin of site 2 only, but this does not work since admin is (at least as far as I know) on organisation level. Giving admin rights for organisation A allows also access to site 1 what has to be avoided.

Now I see option to change the setup to be

  • Organisation A
    • Site 1 (site1.atlassian.net)
  • new Organisation C
    • Site 2 (site2.atlassian.net)
  • Organisation B
    • Site 3 (site3.atlassian.net)

Can someone point me to instructions how to do this?

Thanks in advance

Harald

Hi @Harald Seyr

Within Organisation A, you can make someone a Site Admin for Site 2 only.

As an organization or site admin, you can make another user a site admin. You can only make someone a site admin if they already have access to the site or have been invited:

  1. Go to your site's Admin at admin.atlassian.com. If you're an admin for multiple sites or an organization admin, click the site's name and URL to open the Admin for that site.

  2. Select Groups from the left side of the page.

  3. Select the site-admins group.

  4. Click Add members, search and select the people you want to add, and click Add.

Hi @Dave Mathijs

I check this, but it does not work as expected.

I can add the user to group "site-admins", but then it gets tagged as "ORGANISATIONS-ADMINISTRATOR" (I use german UI). There is a warning in UI that does say "The org admin has access to all products of this orga and can execute all administration tasks".

When removing the org admin from the user, it automatically removes the membership to "site-admins".
