How can I extract only certain rows of a table from one page to another page?

Ariel Xu January 31, 2023

I have a table that documents the health status of projects in the entire program, and each project has its own individual page that contains the health status of that particular project. I would like to link each individual project page to the main program page so all the project statuses can be collated in a single table. When the individual project pages are updated, this main program table would also automatically be updated. Would this be possible?

I tried to use macro excerpt include but it doesn't seem like it is possible to only include one row of that table to be an excerpt on the other page.

@Ariel Xu Glad to have you as part of the Atlassian community

I would suggest using the page properties macro on each of the project pages.  Then adding the page properties report to the program status page to get the specific information about each project dynamically added from each project page.  It might require you to change up each page but I have used this in the past to successfully report on information like this.

This worked really well. Is it possible to use this macro on a page where I use the same ID for multiple page properties macro sections? For example, project page has three sections where two of these sections I've used the page properties macro, and used the same id. Then, on my main overview page, I use page properties report to get data from these two sections in the project page, with two tables that share the same id? Thanks!

Hi @Ariel Xu,

We can also suggest trying our app – Table Filter and Charts for Confluence.
You’ll be able to combine your project tables into one big report on the master page with the help of the Table Excerpt/Table Excerpt Include macros.

Then with the help of the Table Filter macro you’ll be able to filter your combined report and leave only that rows which you want to present on the master page.

Hope such approach will help your case.

Thanks! We are currently still on Confluence Cloud so I don't have the admin rights to trial this App. But once we move to server or data cloud, we'll submit a request to trial the app.
