Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Confluence for documentation and team knowledge sharing, and recently started thinking about how AI could be integrated more deeply into everyday workflows, not just as a helper, but as part of the actual knowledge system.
For example, in Confluence we often:
- maintain long documentation pages
- update processes over time
- search for relevant info across multiple spaces
It feels like AI could help with things like:
- summarizing large pages automatically
- suggesting updates based on new content
- linking related documents more intelligently
- even helping keep documentation “alive” instead of static
I came across an overview discussing how modern AI systems are evolving into more integrated workflows (especially around context and continuous updates), and it made me think about tools like Confluence in a new way — particularly how knowledge bases could become more dynamic: https://techstoffe.com/
So my question is:
- Are there practical ways today to integrate AI into Confluence beyond basic macros or plugins?
- Has anyone implemented something like auto-summarization or smart linking in real use?
- Do you see Confluence evolving into a more AI-driven knowledge platform in the near future?
In my previous company, we implemented in-app AI assistant that was connected Confluence via API - https://docs.emplifi.io/platform/latest/home/librarian
It served content from the same space our public documentation was built, so it was always up to date.
