My team just finished a software project for a client and created a lot of documentation in Confluence (cloud version). I'd like to simply transfer the space to client's separate cloud confluence that they just purchased.
The Atlassian documentation about transfers is convoluted. I shouldn't have to navigate a bunch of menus to download the space and upload it (which I couldn't figure out how to do anyway after 10 min of searching / reading support pages).
Why can't I, as the confluence account owner and admin say to ROVO, here's the client's confluence URL, transfer this space to them? I'm also an admin in client's account, incase that's useful.
Hello @Jeremy Chambers
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
The documentation for exporting a space to a file is found here:
https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/export-content-to-word-pdf-html-and-xml/
The documentation for importing a space from a previously created export file is found here:
Is this the documentation you were referencing?
If so, what portion of it is unclear?
Hello @Jeremy Chambers
There is another option for transferring data between Confluence Cloud instances -
Transfer data from one Atlassian cloud instance to another
For Confluence specifically:
https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/copy-confluence-data/
This process is more convoluted than exporting and importing a space.
Other things to consider with either of these methods is what macros and third party apps may have been used in the source space. Are those same macros and third party apps available in the destination Confluence instance?

The reasons are security and permissions.
Exporting and importing space is a question of a couple of clicks and a lot simpler than setting up Rovo (on both sites including permissions, instructions, etc.) to do the job would be.
There is an app that can sync Confluence spaces across multiple sites (Space Sync for COnfleunce) so you can push any change from one space to another. But again, it must be installed on both instances, authenticated and connected via tokens, etc. And for a one-off move, it's not necessary.
