Having Issues on Creating Tiny URLs (Unique Page ID) for Attachments in Confluence

Sm Ratul June 7, 2022

I am reaching out with an issue where we’re trying to generate Tiny URLs for specific attachments within a document repository in Confluence but seems like it’s not happening. The tiny URL (unique page link regardless of renaming or moving pages) works only for a Page Share, not with attachment Share. Is there any way that we can auto populate tiny URLs for attachments as well? If so, that would be great to know. Please see attached for references.pageShare.jpgtinyurl.jpg

No, Confluence is not intended to be a document repository and doesn't have functions like that.  Attachments are supposed to be supporting, or a part of, the page's content, not content in their own right.

You could create tiny URLs with an external tool, but that does mean having to copy/paste each URL into the tool to get one, then relying on your people knowing that they'll have to log into Confluence to see it.

Thank you for the information.
