HTTP Error when uploading a word document

Miriam Cox December 13, 2023

In Confluence Cloud, I am trying to drop a Word document into a file list in a page and I get 'HTTP Error'.  There is no other information as to what is causing the problem.

  • I have been able to attach Word documents before.
  • It is only 679KB in size.
  • I have permissions in the space to add attachments.

any idea what might be causing the problem?

@Miriam Cox It may have something to do with the location of the file or the location you are trying to drop the file (you cannot put some macros inside some other macros).

Rather than dragging and dropping, have you tried clicking in the location on the page and using the Add image, video, or file button on the editing toolbar? This will make you navigate to the file, which may resolve the issue or help you see where any errors are occurring.
