I regularly use an HTML macro with a `<style>` CSS block that targets different elements to customize the look of our pages on Confluence DC (Server). Our organization is moving to Confluence Cloud, and I was informed the HTML macro is not available for cloud. I searched for alternatives to the HTML macro and found a few options, but all of them insert the HTML as an iFrame.
Are there alternate ways to use to perform this task? I use CSS primarily to add background images to certain blocks, and adjust spacing around other blocks. This prevents me from having to update the images when the background images change.
Hi @Tony Chung
Because Confluence Cloud UX and UI have different looks and logic, HTML macros and CSS are not needed here as much as for the DC version. They can't do most of the things you used to have and, like you mentioned, can work only as a frame, unfortunately.
I can suggest you solution that helps to update the background automatically but maybe this article might be interesting for you to learn how to add background colours and images using built-in and third-party solutions (without HTML https://community.atlassian.com/t5/App-Central-articles/How-to-add-a-background-colour-to-pages-in-Confluence-Cloud/ba-p/2931121

I'm going to stop you there. I don't think it's Atlassian's role to tell me what is or is not needed here. I would expect Atlassian should have migrated the features from Server/DC to Cloud, and in the case where things weren't available, devise some way around it, or improve the feature.
For example, I love the new named excerpt/include excerpt feature. At a previous company we relied on a paid macro for this. Now it's built in and I reuse content all the time with it.
Thank you for responding, @Zoriana Bogutska_Kolekti . I hope as an Atlassian partner you can apply pressure from your end on the Atlassian dev team to restore functionality that is now broken.

@Tony Chung Did you end up finding a solution for this?

@Tom Macedo a year later, and no solution so far. And with Atlassian retiring the legacy editor completely, I don't see any hope for generating stylish pages without an expensive macro.
