I want to achieve a smooth transition between Confluence database cells by using keyboard arrows, but instead getting the ←↑↓→ symbols. How to replicate:
1) create "Database" in Confluence
2) Type text in the Text Field column
3) Press Tab and then any keyboard arrow. As a result, the whole text is being replaced by an arrow symbol (e.g. → if you press right).
Instead it shall be a smooth transition to another cell as in Excel or Google Spreadsheet.
Question - is there a workaround? May this issue be only on MacOS? Why can't we go to the cells up and down using the keyboard shortcuts (instead we only have Tab to go to the right cell)?
P.s. - Interesting finding: when the database is embedded in the live doc and you edit it from the live doc screen, then I don't encounter problem of getting ←↑↓→ symbols by using steps above. Only happens when you open the database page and work directly in there.
Hi @Georgy Charyev ,
Unfortunately, keyboard navigation between database cells is not currently supported in Confluence Databases.
This is a known limitation, and there's an existing feature request to add proper keyboard navigation support:
I'd recommend voting on this ticket and leaving a comment describing your use case — it helps the product team prioritize it.
Hope it helps 🙌
