I have removed many pages (difficult with no bulk delete functionality but that's a different topic), but our Admin still sees this message after 24 hours. Any tips on how to get this unlocked?

Note the banner states I need to delete 0.0 GB

@Dave Marshall

Building on the answers from @Kris Klima _K15t_ and @Arkadiusz Wroblewski, you can check how much storage you are using in each space with a Space Report. This is described on this page https://support.atlassian.com/confluence/kb/how-to-identify-storage-size-in-confluence-cloud-using-the-space-reports-feature/, but I have a couple of notes to add for how it works in my site:

  1. Select the gear icon next to your profile picture in Confluence to open Confluence administration.
  2. Select Data management > Space reports
  3. Select Create report
  4. Download the file
  5. Open the file to view the storage used in each space (last column)

Hello @Dave Marshall

In addition to what said @Kris Klima _K15t_

Confluence storage can be a bit misleading because archived content and attachment history still count, so it is possible to hit the limit even when the visible content looks small.

Before calling it a bug, I would check the site’s storage usage and look specifically at attachments and old versions. If you need to free space, deleting or archiving pages alone may not be enough, attachments usually need to be removed from the content completely.

Hi @Dave Marshall

Free Confluence is limited to 2GB so a large video attachment or similar can push you over the limit. Pages as such are rarely the issue.

I would check if you have any big attachement and remove it.

Hi Kris,

Thank you for your reply. My concern is that the banner says to delete 0.0 GB. I believe I have deleted enough to unblock and there is a problem with the calculation/unblock process.

Hi @Dave Marshall

I understand the concern with the message mentioning "0.0gb" to delete and it can be confusing.

Depending on the case, it might take some time to sync the information, but if you are still having this issue today, we can investigate further!

Before moving with the next steps, since we don't have access to your site now, could you confirm if you are you able to check with the space reports mentioned by Barbara, if there are attachments/storage consuming content on some of your spaces?

Documentation for reference: Space Reports feature

I understand that you mentioned you deleted data, but was the data purged from the trash?

Attachments and pages deleted can stay in your trash, in each space, where you can find in the Space Settings > Content, and see the option "Trash". If the content is still there, it is still consuming space.

If there are spaces deleted, please check into your Confluence Settings > Trashed spaces. (url should look like: <sitename>.atlassian.net/wiki/admin/trashed-spaces)

The spaces are sent there to be purged or recovered later, but still consume storage as well.

In case the issue continues today, but there are no items in your space's trash, or the site's trash (for spaces), please feel free to submit a request at https://www.atlassian.com/company/contact/purchasing-licensing#/, since we are unable to raise a request on your behalf right now, as the account used to open this post is not showing any free sites linked to the account.

Regards,
Jessica

@Dave Marshall I also noticed today when I was looking for something else that you can list the attachments in a space by navigating to Space settings > Content > Attachments.

You can sort the list by the Size column to locate your biggest attachments. There is also a link to the page they are attached to, so you can go look at whether they are actually still used on the page or just still attached to it.
