Update: If I use autocomplete by typing an exclamation point, pick the file it inserts it as a thumbnail. If I then click on the thumbnail and say display as a link, that link works the way I want it to (does a preview). Autocomplete doesn't appear to function inside ExcellenTable, so I cant get it there that way. If I cut and paste the URL displayed when I hover on the link, it downloads. Help?
I have a wiki page that is using the ExcellenTable macro. I have uploaded a file to the page. This file is visible at the bottom of the page as a thumbnail and as a link. I copied the link and pasted it into a cell in ExcellentTable. The table is going to be a list of research papers. What I want to happen is when you click on the link that is the title of the paper it should use the standard PDF file preview, show the preview and allow you to download and/or comment on it. If I click on the thumbnail at the bottom, that is exactly what happens, but if I click on the link either at the bottom of the page or in the cell in the ExcellentTable, it just immediately downloads. Given that both links behave the same way, I don't think this is related to ExcellentTable, but I included that just in case.
I did see there was a similar question ( https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Why-I-cannot-preview-but-only-download-pdf-file/qaq-p/444983 ), and I turned on the chrome developer tools, but no errors are generated when you click on the link. We are using Confluence 6.6.1.
Thanks,
Bill
