Objective: Add event type using iCalendar in MacOs
Context: I want to edit my Team Calendar via my calendar and add event type eg. Leave to it but when I'm plotting using my iCalendar it reflects a yellow tile with default `event` type.
Question: How to add event type using iCalendar
EDIT: iCalendar meaning the native app in MacOs for Calendar
Hi @Quer ,
As Liam said, this isn't currently supported (as far as I know). You can add/edit the event directly in Team Calendars, but that's not optimal. The ICS standard does not support Atlassian's custom event type metadata > meaning events will always be generic.
There's also this feature request (actually highly voted) when it comes to integrations and APIs for adding, editing and removing events: CONFCLOUD-51696: Provide API to create, edit and remove events from a calendar
I'd say this partially relates to what you're looking for. 👀
Cheers,
Tobi
Hi @Quer, Welcome to the Community!
Unfortunately, it's not possible to control the Team Calendars event type from iCal / ICS.
Team Calendars treats subscribed external calendars (Google, Outlook, iCal, etc.) as read-only event feeds with a single generic event type. It doesn’t map ICS categories or custom properties to Team Calendars' event types.
Hope it helps 🙌
