Embed Database Macro - Is there a bug?

I am attempting to embed a database entry into a Confluence page, but after I select the macro and the database to use, it pops up with entries for a split second and then goes to a screen that says 'Uh oh. Something went wrong! missing referenceId'. I can't take any different steps and I've tried it selecting different databases with the same result. My databases aren't large by any stretch of the imagination. I think this might be a bug. embed_database.pngembed database macro screen.pngmacro database list.pnguh oh.png

My team ran into this issue last week—specifically embedding a specific database entry in a page (which the above workaround didn't help with), but it appears to be working as of today. 🤞

That's the same problem I have. Here is what worked for me:

  1. Go to the database
  2. Select the entry via the selection on the left
  3. Press copy link in the action bar
  4. Paste it where you need it on the page and choose your preferred display option (e.g. embed)

I have run into this as well, as far as I can tell it is a UI bug.

Workaround

  1. Look up your databaseId manually - navigate to the database directly, the ID is the last part of the URL:
    https://{site}/wiki/spaces/{spaceKey}/database/{databaseId}
  2. Create a database embed by using the option Create Database
Don't bother to configure it, you'll be deleting it later.
  3. Select the macro element
  4. In the context toolbar below, select Edit link
  5. Change the ID the the ID of your target database (or copy and replace the entire URL)
  6. Delete the newly created database.

If you already have a database embed macro on the page, copy, paste and edit should also work.

How has this not been fixed yet?

I have tried everything, rebooting the browser, my device, clearing cookies, etc. nothing worked. This did though.

Thanks.
