Hi Community,
I am looking for a automation solution for Confluence which duplicates/copies space content from one space to a newly created space.
I have created a Confluence Space "Template Project" which has a pre-defined content which i want to reuse in every newly created Confluence Space. See screenshot below.
So when a new space is created is want to duplicate/copy the content from the Template Project to this newly created space. I am aware there is a manual option available, however i am locking to automate this to reduce the manual interaction, faults and dependency of certain people.
Thank you for your help.
Rob
Hi @Rob Peters
currently automation is not able to do this, neither are there options in the API.
There is indeed the internal manual copy.
Or you need to look into 3rd party solutions to copy a space or to bud templates to use.
Thank you for the feedback, I was really hoping to solve it without any 3rd party solution.

Hello Rob,
there is a native solution to copy content manually into a different space via the 3-dots-menu. But you have still a lot of manual steps, creating the space, copying the content, custom space permission/space category, selecting the homepage and removing the native created default homepage.
If you are up for a cheap third party solution you might want to give our app 'Space Templates for Confluence' app a try, which was built for excactly that use case. Create Custom Confluence Space templates for reuseable space setup.

Thank you for the feedback and tip for a 3rd party solution. I will take it into consideration.

Hello @Rob Peters
Well, I asked Rovo and it produced this:
Having said that... what is the underlying use case here?
I'm thinking in terms of what comes AFTER you copy content because there are already solutions that allow you to simply sync content from ONE to multiple spaces - automatically.

Thank you for your feedback. I have also asked ROVO many times to come with a solution, however not the one you showed. I will have a look at it.
I only need it for the initially setup of a new project, after that there is no interaction required.
The solutions you are referring to that allow simply sync content from ONE to multiple spaces is probably a 3rd party solution?
