Does anyone know how t deleted unwanted space categories?

My Confluence space has too many unused space categories.  I would like to delete the unused categories to reduce confusion.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

There is no "delete category" because you don't need one.

Remove the unwanted category from each space that currently has it. The category will disappear.

Thanks Manjor.  That is how I figured that it works.  However, I have removed all the spaces with a specific category, but the category is still visible.
