Hi,

Is there a way to deep link to VSCode? I want to add a link like vscode://settings/<somewhere_in_settings>

When I try to add a new link starting with "vscode://", I got "invalid URL" error.

Thanks

Hi @Christophe Claudin ,

Unfortunately, Confluence doesn’t support custom URL schemes like vscode:// — it treats them as invalid for security reasons (same as with slack:// or zoommtg:// links).

That said, you can work around it a bit:

  • Instead of linking directly, you can write plain text like vscode://settings/sync — users can copy and paste it into their browser or VS Code.
  • Or use a [code block] or quote format to make it stand out.
  • Alternatively, link to a regular web URL (like a docs page or GitHub README) that explains how to open the deep link manually.

Hopefully Atlassian allows whitelisting schemes in the future 🤞
