Creating page/space dialog in confluence 5.9.7 hangs indefinitely in Firefox since upgrade

We recently upgraded from 5.8.9 to 5.9.7, since then the create dialogs for spaces and pages hang indefinitely in Firefox.

I've checked the related documentation that I could find (https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/unable-to-create-pages-the-create-page-popup-loads-forever-after-confluence-upgrade-to-5-x-330793034.html?focusedCommentId=586876215) and none of the listed causes match.

Are there any other known causes/fixes this issue?
