I would like to create a simple form for users, that the answers will be populated in a table in a separate child page. Is this possible?
(If I have to download a separate macro will this work for users without the macro)
This is something what is possible with our plugin ConfiForms
You can build forms of various complexity and create different views over the data you have collected - show it as a table or card, or may be a calendar.. or even the way you like - wysiwyg way. Results can be rendered on the same page or on a different, or even on a different Confluence space.
Once installed on your Confluence as a plugin your users will not need to install anything else by themselves. Everything is browser based.
Thanks Alex. Do you have to pay for this plugin? I can see there is a free trial but if I want it to continue to work over time is there a cost associated with this?

Yes, this is a commercial and supported app.
The price depends on the number of users you have in your instance - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211860/confiforms-data-forms-workflows?hosting=cloud&tab=pricing
