Could you use Confluence as a KB to provide context sensitive help in another application?

Company XYZ uses a large scale enterprise platform with Oracle backend

Front end of the platform can be customised & you can execute javascript

They've asked whether you could link pages from a public Confluence space to screens in this app.

e.g.:

When using this application, you press F1, app then picks up tags on the screen you're in, executes a search query via Rest API in public space Confluence & returns Confluence pages as results

I don't know how Service Desk does this technically, but does exactly what you are asking.

It includes search results from Confluence, and displays as a pop pup page (styled exactly like in Confluence).

Maybe you could try and research how this is done.
