Copying confluence knowledge base to salesforce

We're currently working to add salesforce to our office.  I see we can interate our KB with to copy over

My question is , if we do copy over to Salesforce and let's say confluence goes down or articles are deleted on the Confluence side is it still stored on the Salesforce side, or does it get deleted or unlinked?
