Hi all,
I need to copy an entire space, with its childhood pages and templates.
I used the "copy space" feature in the space settings and i succesfully created the new space: anyway, the templates are still opened in the original space (not the copied one). This because the "space key" of each template still refers to the original space: i can change thm manually and complete the task but is there a way to change them automatically (maybe when doing the copy space)?
Hi @Alessio Ballarin I found a few work items on Atlassian's Jira Site. They might be related to your issue.
CONFCLOUD-73536 CONFCLOUD-7752
CONFCLOUD-74513 CONFCLOUD-7752
There might be some others, but that's what I found so far. Please vote for and watch them for updates.
Hi @Alessio Ballarin and welcome to Community!
Can you confirm you are using Confluence Cloud? I believe "copy space" is only a Confluence DC option.
There is no native space copy option in Cloud, only copy page trees. (read this discussion as well https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Confluence-questions/Is-it-possible-to-clone-a-space/qaq-p/3119476 )
In addition, there is no way to copy a template created in the space settings from one space to another.
It sounds like you had "create from template" macros on the pages in your page tree, and when you duplicate the pages, the settings of the macro stay like they were originally set (so linked to the old space). If you have a lot of macros to update, you can try doing it with the Confluence API.
