Hey All,

I was wondering if someone has been able to find a way to copy information from a parent page when creating a template.

My exact use case is as follows:

  1. Create a parent page with a list of Stakeholders.  This parent page creates a button to create meeting notes from a template.
  2. Looking to copy the list of stakeholders from the parent page into the meeting notes template.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hello there Tyler!
You could achieve this by using the Excerpt and Excerpt Include macros:

1- Create the page that will have the original content
2- Place an Excerpt Macro in it
3- Insert the content that needs to be referenced elsewhere into the Excerpt macro
4- Publish the page
5- Create a new Template
6- Insert an Excerpt Include macro in it
7- During macro setup, specify the page where you created the Excerpt macro earlier
8- Save the Template
9- Create a new page using this new Template
10- Update the content in the original page
11- Content in the newly created page will be updated accordingly
