I have 2 confiform form/tables:
I would like to limit the edit capabilities of select fields in the second form/table to just the author(s) defined in the first form/table while allowing the other fields to be editable by the everyone.
I know I can specifically list editable users per field but this could shrink/grow based on the team of authors in play over the year.
Is there a way to drive the editable user listing for a field in second form/table the based on the entries in the first form/table, e.g., dynamically look them up?
Server/Data Center version 7.11.2 of Confluence is our install version.
Hi
Do you have these 2 forms connected through a smart field, for example?
Alex
i do not. i will consider.
Thought it through, the intent is to have assigned authors to the page/document but not to individual entries. I do want to limit who can edit what at the field level by using the values in the author table to dynamically drive the "author only editable" fields.
Not sure smartlink will work here.

You want to set edit restrictions on particular fields, right?
Let me demo this to you http://recordit.co/ifX9KN3JVO

I do want to add edit controls per field and understand how that is done. What i am trying to do is dynamically drive the editors to specific fields if they exist in another table. I'll take a look at the demo and let you know.
BOOM, that is it! I know there had to be a way to do it but I could not figure it out.

so close. i played with this over the weekend and this solution requires that i select the authors from the drop down vs have it auto-populate with the existing data from the authors table.
ideally i would like:
i will continue to play around with this and feel like i am close enough to taste it.
