Hi Team,

Our confluence server suddenly not accessible. We check its status and still work, did an restart services and it back online after few minutes. We noticed theres an update summary popup when login saying: Confluence was successfully upgraded to version 7.13.2 on Jun 29, 2022 at 12:08 PM. Here's a summary of the checks we ran during the upgrade.

I couldnt find any log relate to this update, and noone did any update, can you help to verify how this update happened, where should I check the log related to it?

Thanks,

Peter

Thanks for answering Rilwan,

Yes we use Ubuntu, last command only show myself login at that time, and only me worked at that time anyway.

I can found atlassian-confluence.log and check all the log but nothing related to that upgrade happen. I actually found out that I updated confluence to 7.13.2 last year, not recently, but for some reason the pop up showed up after restarting service. Can you confirm that confluence will not update automatically please? just to make sure.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi @IT System ,

If you are using Linux for confluence install, then run "last" command. It gives the list of users and their login and logout times. Check who all were logged in at Jun 29, 2022 at 12:08 PM.

FYI, When a confluence is upgraded, atlassian-confluence.log will be updated with below lines

INFO [main] [atlassian.confluence.upgrade.AbstractUpgradeManager] entireupgradeFinished Upgrade completed successfully

Hi @IT System |
Confluence will not upgrade automatically. You need to download the files and follow the upgrade steps manually.

Possibilities:

1. You had performed the upgrade process last year, but did not start actual service till now. If this is the case, I would suggest to check the data(pages, comments etc) before restart are in sync.

2. When the service was restarted, you opened https://<baseURL>/admin/pulp/pulp-render.action directly from the browser suggestion. It displays last upgrade report.

There was suggestion raised back in 2004 for auto upgrade and its till open: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-1815
