Hi,
We have Confluence and Jira server instances running and both seem to work fine. Confluence was setup such that Jira will manage the users so that users do not need to remember to different password details.
Confluence logins are working properly for users who remember their Jira passwords but some have forgotten their Jira login details. We are able to successfully change the Jira passwords as well and login with new passwords for those users. However, the new password doesn't seem to work Confluence.
Users have tried directly changing the password through Confluence password recovery system as well (via eMail). User's receive email for password reset but upon entering the new password twice the system throws a System Error:
How do we change the Confluence password now?
Thanks for any help.
A system error has occurred — our apologies!

Thank you!
I am not sure, but you could try:
Best regards.
It looks like it is a user directory issue. Confluence is unable to authenticate to Jira for user management.
I deleted old user directory setup from both Jira/Confluence and re-did the user directory setup by following this link: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/connecting-to-crowd-or-jira-for-user-management-229838465.html.
Now when I try to test the connection while Configuring Atlassian JIRA Server, I get this message:
Connection test failed. Response from the server:
com.atlassian.crowd.exception.ApplicationPermissionException: Forbidden (403) Encountered a "403 - Forbidden" error while loading this page. client.forbidden.exception Go to JIRA home
Where do I go from here?
Thanks.

It seems you need to see atlassian-confluence.log on your server and find detailed information there.
