Hi :)
when I add a picture and text to the news ticker in Confluence, the picture is always displayed on the left and the text on the right. However, the image is cut off. It doesn't matter in what size I add it as an attachment to the news ticker. Is there a trick to integrate a picture neatly into the news ticker?
We are using Confluence 6.14.2

Hi Sandra,
For clarity, I see you're using News Teaser from Confluence from the Atlassian Marketplace. Just wanted to call that out for other folks who may see this question!
Looking at the documentation, this sounds like the news slider macro. The documentation says that it will try to responsively resize. You could manually define the height and width in the macro properties - it's unclear to me from the documents if the width refers to the entire card (including text) or just the image. I believe the height will affect the image size, as the image takes the full height of the card.
This does seem to be a choice the app publisher has made, presumably to make a cleaner-looking image experience. From the images I see in previews, it seems to pick whichever dimension is smaller for the space it's trying to go into, and crops on the other dimension. Usually this type of cropping works decently on photographs, usually less so with prepared graphics. My recommendation, if you're putting banner images together, is to leave some buffer on both the sides and the top/bottom so that the crop doesn't negatively impact the "content" of the graphic.
Outside of that, the vendor does have a support portal you can try to raise a case with them directly.
Cheers,
