Hi

I have only recently started using Confluence Whiteboard and Sections therein.

Is it at all possible to create a link directly to a section? Eg. I have a few sections on a whiteboard but what to send a link to specific section via email/chat (even if they can drag around to see other sections if they want)

Thank you

Yatish

Hello @Yatish Madhav

It is not possible to have a link of a section, rather than adding a link first that will lead either to Jira and Confluence then moving that link to the section.

Thanks - unfortunately not :) - see image below

I am referring to Confluence whiteboards - in the image below, I have 2 sections and I want to create a link that will automatically center/focus on section 1 and another link that will automatically center/focus on section 2.

Thank you

In Confluence whiteboards, when sharing a link to a specific section, it will open showing the whole page but will instantly scroll to the section in question. You can create a link to a specific section by right-clicking on the section's title and selecting "Copy Link Address". You can then share this link and when someone clicks on it, it should automatically scroll to the section you linked to.

Additionally, to focus on specific sections using a link, you may use anchors within a Confluence page. You can link to an anchor tag that you've placed at the beginning of your section. Here's how to do it:

1. Add an anchor macro to the beginning of each section. This is done using the following syntax: `{anchor:section1}`.
2. Once the anchor is set up, you can then create a link to it using the format: `/display/SPACEKEY/PAGETITLE#section1` (replace "SPACEKEY" and "PAGETITLE" with appropriate values). This should automatically scroll and focus on the specific section when clicked.

This method may be a bit more technical, but it allows you to link to a specific section of the page in Confluence.
