Hi everyone,
We’re encountering a serious issue in our Confluence cloud instance and I’m hoping someone in the community has experienced something similar or can point us toward a solution.
Issue Summary:
We’ve noticed that certain Confluence pages automatically increment their version number just by being viewed. The version history logs a change with the note “formatting was changed.” The changes it highlights involve section titles although no actual edits were made by any user.
What We’ve Tried:
We converted the affected pages to the new editor, thinking it might be a legacy editor issue.
We restructured and updated section titles.
We verified this isn’t caused by our Comala Document Management add-on. If it were, only the workflow status would change (e.g. from an 'approved' state to a 'draft' state)—not the Confluence page version itself.

Thanks for your help!
