I want to create a link in JIRA, that when clicked opens my confluence attachments page AND highlights a specific document.
I was able to do manually (as instructions below indicate) but cannot find a "click and generate " URL. I am using Confluence version 6.4.3
Here's how I did manually (urls display examples in my environment)
1) On page where attachment resides, click …. and then click Attachments.
The Attachments page displays and the URL displays the page ID.
2) Copy and paste the URL somewhere, and append the word string &sortBy=date&highlight= to the URL
For example: http://ny-s-conf01.dslocal.com/pages/viewpageattachments.action?pageId=45516713&sortBy=date&highlight=
3) Copy the filename and paste after appended text.
For example: http://ny-s-conf01.dslocal.com/pages/viewpageattachments.action?pageId=45516713&sortBy=date&highlight=IBC Whats New.docx
4) Since no spaces are allowed in the filename, add + signs where spaces are.
THANK YOU!
Hello Beth,
Well, it seems you found a very good work around and we did confirm this works with server and cloud. On that same note, we do not currently have anything in place to create a link that automatically highlights an attachment (outside of what you have so excellently documented). This is a really neat idea however. We do suggest you create a Feature Request for this if you wish to see this in a future product.
If you don’t mind us asking, what would the use case for this be? This is a neat idea, just trying to paint a picture as to how it would be used.

Hello Stephen,
I want to be able to create a url from a JIRA ticket that jumps to the page where the document resides, while at the same time highlighting the applicable document, in the case where the user may need to refer to related documents on that page, and be aware of the location of said document within Confluence.
Thank you for your response.

Beth,
This certainly is a neat idea. I would urge you to submit a feature request as linked above.
