When editing tables in Confluence server 7.4.18, the Merge Cells button in the header bar fails if merging two adjacent cells in one row. It works if merging two adjacent cells in two or more rows. My workaround is to either duplicate the row, merge the cells in both rows, then delete the duplicate row, or perform the merge by editing the source. Is this a known problem?
Thanks!
I believe i have a similar issue, and the workaround doesn't work for me ill try to explain. when merging cells in Jira i get this error pop up and all edits fly back: We couldn’t update the Description value You can try again in a few minutes, or refresh the page. Try editing the field again
Hi @Brian Woodard welcome to the community! I did a quick search in Atlassian's Jira site and found this issue CONFSERVER-58765 which sounds like the issue you're having. (Or at least I think so.) You could vote for and watch it for updates.
I did a quick test in Conf Cloud and it seemed to work for me.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Dan!
This is a little different in that I'm not trying to copy, just merge. I do notice that sometimes if I save my edits and return to edit mode, the merge will sometimes work. It appears to vary with the content and format.
