Confluence 7.19.19 - too new to use with plugins?

Martin Bertz February 9, 2024

Hi all,

I recently installed Confluence 7.19.19 Server version coming from version 7.19.4 (had to install fresh since an upgrade was not possible).

When trying to install certain marketplaces plugins, I get the following message:

"This version of Confluence is unrecognized by the Atlassian Marketplace. It might be a non-standard build or be too new to appear."

As far as I know, this version is neither EAP, withdrawn or internal.

Do I just have to wait to get access to marketplace plugins or what else can I do?

Thanks and best regards

Martin

Pleasant update: I am now able to access the marketplace and could install the app.

Still not sure what to do once I have to reinstall in the future (in case it's not going to be available anymore) but for now my problem seems to be solved.

Hi Martin.

Welcome to the community.

It might be related to the Server sales stop. But not entirely sure based on the description.

Do you still have active licenses for the apps you are trying to install?

If so, you could try to download the app version required directly from marketplace.atlassian.com and the install it by file.

  1. Go to marketplace.atlassian.com
  2. Find your app
  3. Click version
  4. Click See all versions (it might take some time to load the page.)
  5. Download the needed version.

To install an app by uploading a file:

  1. From the top navigation bar in your application, choose  > Add-ons or Manage apps.
  2. Choose Upload app.
  3. Select the app file (it will be a .jar or .obr file) or enter the URL where the file can be found.
  4. Select Upload.

Thanks for your reponse.

Unfortunately, I cannot download the app "PocketQuery" in the marketplace:

As we continue to move towards a cloud future together, new server app sales and installs are no longer available for customers. You can update app version via Atlassian Marketplace until the end of support for server on Feb 15, 2024

I would have updated to the Cloud services a while ago but it doesn't fit our actual needs as there were technical issues rendering our Confluence System useless when using in the Cloud. Hence we have to stay with the Server version.

I have now contacted the vendor directly hoping that they might be able to provide an installation file as we still have an active license for this app.

:-(

If you use admin -> manage apps in your Server install, you'll be able to tell it to upgrade directly from the marketplace, no need to fiddle with download and upload.
