Confluence - 50 user license - 200 employees

Mark higgins April 4, 2019

Hello,

All the questions for this problem go back to 2014, so I assume this was changed and I can't find what I'm looking for?

Just like in Jira Service Desk, you have the concept of customers, who do not consume a licence seat, what is the Confluence equivalent?

We have 50 people who are going to be using Confluence for projects/knowledge base/ procedures etc, and 200 people who need to search this information, and I didn't really want to dump in all in the one space?

Or am I just thinking wrong

If I understand your question correctly, you will have just 50 users actually making edits? The rest just need to view and search the data?

If that is the case, you just need to turn on anonymous user rights, either at the instance or space level. Those users will not log in, but can view and search the content. Only users needing to edit content will need to log in and consume a license.

Hi,

for Confluence there is nothing like customer from Service Desk point of view.

You have 2 options:

  1. Public space - I know not suitable for customers
  2. Connect Confluence to Service Desk project as Knowledge Base so customers can find it through Service Desk
