We are currently running Confluence 6.2 on Windows 2012 R2 and are trying to migrate it to our local MySQL database (5.6, as required).
However, it seems the instructions on how to configure MySQL for Confluence may be outdated, because the descriptions match the interface from the old MYSQL Server Instance Configuration Wizard, which apparently was replaced by the MySQL Windows Installer in MySQL version 5.6 .
Could anyone tell me the corresponding settings for MySQL Windows Installer?
Or if not - I am guessing that what the old wizard did was to modify my.cnf/my.ini, right? Does anybody have the coresponding file with the correct settings for confluence 6.2?
Thanks!
Hi Viola,
Since your question was from the 17th I checked to see if you had a support ticket and did find one. It looks like you were able to move forward by installing MySQL and following the documentation you linked (Database Setup For MySQL) to edit the my.ini file.
If there is anything else you did that could help others in the Community, please circle back to let us know.
Thanks,
Ann
Hi Ann!
Yes, thank you. I think I have the solution now. I was going to wait until my installation was finished before posting here - just to be sure.
Anyway, for anyone with the same problem: It seems that Step 3.1 and 3.2 in the documentation (https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/database-setup-for-mysql-128747.html) are interchangeable.
They read like sequential instructions, but, apparently you can just move on to Step 3.2 if for some reason you cannot do Step 3.1.
Best of luck!
Viola
