Hi!

Trying to configure Gmail as the SMTP server for Confluence Cloud and running into a non-descript error of 'Something went wrong. Check the correctness of the data.' whenever I click 'Test connection'

I've tried it with credentials for an account with MFA, an app password for an account with MFA, credentials for an account without MFA, and an account with 'Less secure app access' enabled (that does work for other tools for SMTP). I've tried all the above on port 465 and 587, but always get the same error message on 'Test connection'.

The docs I find (https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-do-i-configure-confluence-to-use-gmail-as-the-mail-server-42795030.html) also mention a TLS option, but I don't see one in the interface (not all that big of a deal if the connection is through SSL on 465, yeah?).

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

The article is for confluence server. The confluence cloud already comes with a built in SMTP server, so I haven't come across a need for connecting to an external SMTP server.
