ConfiForms: Accessing input of Drawing canvas to send via mail

Luna Adulara August 10, 2023

Hi!

I have a ConfiForm where I put a drawing canvas at the end to let the user sign the form.
The whole input of the form is then send via IFTTT Macro as a mail (onCreated) to a mailadress of an external ticket system (we're not allowed to use Jira yet :( ).
I get all the information from the form except the input of the drawing canvas.

Is there a way to transform this to a picture-format an attach it? Or just put it as a picture directly into the (html) mail content?

If I just reference the field (through field macro) in the mail I see the label, but the rest is blank.

At the moment I have no idea how to do it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Luna Adulara

Welcome to Atlassian community

Sorry to say, but drawing canvas in ConfiForms can only be used inside Confluence

It cannot be sent via an email, as it requires Confluence for "initialization" (which cannot be done in the static email)

Hi Alex,

thnaks for the fast reply!
I'm sad to hear/read that, but I almost was sure that there is no way :(

So do you have any suggestions on how to implement a field for a signature or to validate the input in any other way similar?

I suggest to have a link in the email that directs to the page where they can see the complete information

problem is: We will not save the data due to data security issues. An email will be sent and there will be no data stored on the page. :(

So there's no way to create a link to the full information as it will be only available in the mail creating a ticket in our ticket system.
