The following issue applies to both live docs and pages within Confluence.

Expected Behavior:

  1. Type text.
  2. Add an inline comment on that text.
  3. Cut the text that has the comment.
  4. Paste.
  5. The inline comment is associated with the pasted text.

Actual Behavior:

  1. Type text.
  2. Add an inline comment on that text.
  3. Cut the text that has the comment.
  4. Paste.
  5. No inline comment exists. Pasting the text did not cause the comment to be associated with the pasted text.

Hi @Bryan Gaston ,

Behavior here is not that consistent (at least from a couple of tests I did).

There's a feature request related to this: CONFCLOUD-42726: Cutting and pasting an inline comment in editor resolves the inline comment, but it doesn't fully cover it.

I've tested it a couple of times, and when I cut and paste inline comments (from Live docs), they are not resolved but just gone.

Suggestion here would be to confirm the behavior with the support team, and potentially check with them if they can update the existing or create a new feature request for it. 👀

Cheers,
Tobi

interesting. ive checked and you can still see this comment in deleted content section in the show comments tool. What's more - you can still comment this item and if you copied link to it before moving page words with inline comment - link works.
