I would like to ask whether a Confluence page being "deactivated" means the same thing as it being "deleted."

If a page has been deactivated, is there any way to restore or reactivate it and regain access to its contents?

Thank you for your help.

Hi @남태호 , they aren't the same thing, and "deactivated" isn't actually a state a Confluence page has. What you've most likely run into is one of two real states. A page can be archived, which pulls it out of the content tree and switches off editing and commenting while keeping the content intact, or it can be deleted, which moves it to the space's Trash. Neither is permanent; only purging from the Trash is final and unrecoverable.

So in both cases you can get it back. If it was archived, restore it from the space's archived items back into the tree. If it was deleted, open the space's Trash and restore it while it is still there. One thing to expect with a deleted page is that it returns to the root of the space rather than its old spot and loses any inherited restrictions, so you may need to move it and reset permissions afterwards. References: archiving and delete, restore or purge.

Ah, that changes it. The email is about the whole Confluence app on your site being deactivated for inactivity, not a single page, Free sites get deactivated after roughly 120 days unused, which is why the site is offline. Two things, and do them today:

  • If you or a colleague is a site or org admin, reactivate it at admin.atlassian.com/billing under Subscriptions, Inactive tab, then Reactivate; the steps are in reactivate a subscription. That brings the data back if it's still within the retention window.
  • In parallel, open an urgent Atlassian Support ticket to restore the deactivated site; they can recover it while the data is still retained.

Be quick, because on a Free site the data is permanently deleted about 15 days after deactivation. Your email said 2026-05-30, which is already past that, so it may be gone, but it is worth trying reactivation and support right now in case you are inside their grace window.
