Child pages moved to highest level after deleting anchor page by mistake

After deleting an anchor page by mistake around 500 child pages are moved to the highest level in the space.
Is there a (simple) way to move these child pages back to a meaningfull place in het space hierarchy?

welcome to the Atlassian community!

Unfortunately you can't reoder multiple pages in one shot. You need to do that page by page in Confluence Space Admin section -> Reoder Pages

I have admin rights but reordering pages in the root of the space seems not to be possible.

As a space admin , you can drag and drop them in a different location at your convenience indipendently from page location.

Then there must be something wrong on the server because a drag action does not have any effect.
