I have JIRA Tix with basic fields like Ticket number, summary, desc etc .. and Smart Checklist items as well like:
Is this having Solaris
Has the DB request raised
Is this under complex category
etc ..
Note - These are not just 'Yes or No' answers .. sometimes the answers can be Text as well(which anyway i cover by adding it in the 'Details' of each Checklist item)
Now, while i can render the Checklist through my JQL(list view .. selecting the columns to be displayed) ..
the challenge is that it just displays all the Checklists in one cell which is not read friendly or UI friendly .. as my requirement is to have each checklist in different columns ..
Say .. i get this JQL output into a Confluence Table .. THEN ..
is it possible to display my checklist items in different(separate) columns via Table transformer in a Confluence Table ..
in other words,
what i couldnt achieve in JQL (as the outcome to display all the checklist items in different columns instead of a single cell/column)
im trying to see if possible to display via some transformation logic in a Confluence Table
Please help.
Hi @Ramu,
I'm Anna from Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence. You mentioned the Table Transformer, which is one of our macros.
If I understood correctly that you have our app, I would suggest you send a request to our support team to help you with this case.
Hi @Ramu
This is how the field, that is from the checklist app (within Jira) is displayed in Confluence, as it is a field.
As this is based on a 3rd party app Confluence can't make any changes to this.
You could reach out to the app vendor.
But in main perspective, how fields on Jira work items are displayed, this is how they are displayed in Confluence on using the macro to show Jira work items in Confluence.

i meant something like truncate the values using transformation code and try to put alias name for each truncated checklist from the bunch of checklists and to display each checklist in different column .. via Table Transformation code logic ..
ok let me explore ..

Hi @Ramu
The macro you us in Confluence has no transformation options.
And in Confluence this is not possible, because this macro shows Jira work items and the fields you selected to be shown.
This is data from Jira, not data that is in Confluence itself, it just being dispalyed.

Its possible .. matter of few Trim and coding logic in the transformation code ..
just that i have to explore and figure it out .. ok .. i'll do ..
Thanks ..

Hi @Ramu
I’m confident this can be done with our User Macro for Confluence Cloud app.
I can even create a PoC if you share more details about how your checklist is currently set up.
So in terms of technical feasibility — yes, it’s possible. Whether you need such a powerful app just for this use case is another question. That said, it could still be worth it thanks to the ready-to-use macro library and the potential to replace other apps in your stack.
