Change font size or background color of header for table

I have a JIRA/Issue filter macro, inside a Table Transformer macro. However, the results pull up a boring table with a light grey header. 

Question: Can I change the background color or font size of the header?

If you mean by the Table Transformer, then no, it returns standard Confluence view of the header row.

Yes, by editing the CSS at the space level. You will need to use the browser inspect function to determine the class names so that you only change this particular table type and not all tables.
