Can you utilize an external LDAP server with Confluence Cloud?

I  would like to use Confluence Cloud with our internal LDAP services.

Is this possible with just Confluence Cloud? I do see access but seems to be granting only folks to gain access from our domain. IS this where a Crowd server fits in?

When you verify your domain and claim, what is it claiming from? I assume, old accounts since it is not LDAP.

Thanks

Not directly.  You can't hook up a Confluence Cloud system to your own directory.

But you can hook up Atlassian Access to your directory, and then use that as the user directory for your Cloud systems (including Confluence)

Crowd is a very different beastie to Access, but it is equivalent in what it does - if you were on Server or DC Confluence, then you could think of Crowd as the Server/DC Access equivalent (but, for the more simple cases, you can also connect Confluence Server/DC to your LDAP directly, without Crowd)
