Can you prevent repeating data in a task report table?

Connie January 8, 2019

Hello,

I'm trying to help organise the tasks that have been set in my meetings at work, therefore I have created another page where all tasks that our pending to be completed show up and organised by each assignee's name. So each person has their own table of tasks that they need to complete. These task report tables have been gathered from meeting pages that we have every week, normally when a new meeting page is created it is copied so all the tasks are also copied to this new meeting page of the week.

The issue from this is that there end up being many tasks that need to be managed and where most are duplicated, hence why the solution of having an individual assignee table to help sort and find tasks relating to a specific person, so it is easier to find your own tasks and make sure they are completed.

Although, this solution has solved the majority of the problem, it still needs to be refined as each individual assignee table will be populated based on the labels attached to the meeting page and where it will still gather repeated task from all meeting page.

Is there any macro or option that will not allow the repetition of of tasks on the assignee table rather than having to tick off the repeating tasks manually?

Thanks!

Connie,

It's not possible as these are technically separate tasks and not recognized as duplicates by Confluence.

Instead of copying the last meeting note, why not use the Meeting Notes Blueprint, which would create a page to organize all past meeting notes, as well as a button on the page that you can click to automatically create new meeting notes. The meeting note template itself can be customized, for example, to include your teammates by default as attendants.

Otherwise, you may need to use a 3rd-party add-on from Marketplace or develop a solution by creating a User Macro.

Regards,

Shannon
