Can we automate the issues from Jira to publish live reports in Confluence using macros?

If yes, please share some material to learn about those items.

Hello @kanwaljeet singh

Yes on Cloud you can show live Jira reports in Confluence with macros. And in most cases you don’t need automation at all. The macros pull the latest data from Jira when someone opens (or refreshes) the Confluence page.

What to use:

Jira Issues / Jira work items macro → shows a live table/list based on JQL or a saved filter

https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/insert-the-jira-issues-macro/

Jira Chart macro → shows live charts (pie, stats, created vs resolved, etc.) from JQL/filter

https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/insert-the-jira-chart-macro/

When automation makes sense:

Only if you want Jira to create a Confluence report page automatically (weekly report pages, one page per release, etc.). The “live” part still comes from the macros.

https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/use-jira-automation-with-confluence/

How to do it : Edit the Confluence page → type / → search Jira → add the macro → paste your JQL (or select a filter) → publish.

Have a great Day 🤠 ☀️

Hi there,

Could you share more information around your desired process flow? If this were an automation, what would you expect this to look like?

Getting understanding around that expectation can help answer the question of what's possible or not.

Hi @kanwaljeet singh  and welcome to Community!

As @Arkadiusz Wroblewski mentioned, there are a number of native Jira macros you can insert on a Confluence page to display information, and they are dynamic so show up to date information.

If you're looking to create reports that include inserting information from various fields of the Jira issue into different areas of the page for a report with a specific layout, say information about the assignee, due date, priority in a table, but then the description further down in the page, an app like AutoPage might be helpful (full disclosure, I work with the company behind the app).
