Can the Confluence code macro be enhanced?

Could the Confluence code macro be enhanced so it can use an external source like an attachment or a Bitbucket file as the source of what to display?

Confluence does not provide out of the box BitBucket integrations.  You would have to purchase an app at an additional cost to get that functionality from the Marketplace like @Trudy Claspill stated.

There are apps in the Marketplace that can be used to display code stored in a Bitbucket file.
